From the way your anchors and yourself treated the Not Dead Yet activists, you definetly have an agenda-driven program with the DOCTORS OF DEATH. All your fan-fare for fitness and health, is shit up a dog's nostrils."Ironsideshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17859574716267489609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1556371561007953336.post-86082118230093615912011-10-25T14:58:33.018-07:002011-10-25T14:58:33.018-07:00This entire debate makes me want to vomit on the &...This entire debate makes me want to vomit on the "entertainment" industry of which Oz is a big part.
I care for my son, who is non-ambulatory, non-verbal and mostly non everything that medicine can label. He survived 25 minutes underwater and lives and smiles. So many fucking people noted that it might have been better if he passed, a kindly euphemism for died. I guess that's non-assisted suicide.
Why do so many severely compromised people continue to live? It is because they have people who deeply care for them. The "indignities" of disablity are mitigated by the love of care-givers. Wiping someone's ass can be a gesture of love, and that love sustains life. Without loving care-giving and the support of even a community of one person, sure someone would want to die. The medical community (ha!ha)) are the ones who should be farthest removed from any discussion of assisted suicide. This is a social problem not a medical issue. It is an issue that the entertainment industry should be banned from.
Tailoring perceptions is evil and a lie and that's what the media industry thrives on. Have we not progressed as a society since the 40's? I fear not!Phil Dzialohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04150881545903849250noreply@blogger.com
